1992 - Taking a ride from Tembagapura to Timika

After returning as a family for the first time since 1982, the Scarabin Family makes a departure through town and up the road until... they get a flat tire near Mile 50... on their way to Timika. Linda and Terry Owen make an appearance during their morning jog. This video is over 10 minutes long.

1992 Tembagapura Road Ride

The video was shot by the Scarabin family in June 1992 on a road trip just below Tembagapura... a road which didn't exist in the late 1970s. This new road extended far beyond what used to be (and maybe still is) known as LOWER WA.

1979 Carstenz Glacier

The video you see was shot on September 8, 1979 by Ivan Marcovic of Yugoslavia and narrated by D.D. Scarabin. It's a little over 5 minutes in duration. Be patient because it cuts up a lot. ...but eventually it'll play. It is as good as it gets... unless somehow Ivan himself provides an original of the video. This is a copy and has deteriorated considerably over the years. If and when I discover more about this glacier trip, I'll post it along with the video here.
